CDT Code for Dental Scaling and Root Planing

Scaling and Root planing is a non-surgical procedure that is done to treat periodontal or gum disease. Teeth scaling and root planing might take more than one dental visit and could require a local anesthetic based on the severity of disease and if you have receding gums.

D4341: Periodontal Scaling and Root-Planing,  4 or more teeth per quadrant, is described as instrumentation of the crown and root surfaces of the teeth. It helps to remove plaque and calculus from these surfaces and is therapeutic in nature.

D4342: Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing, 1 to 3 teeth per quadrant.

D4346: Gingivitis Treatment

D4910: Maintenance is essential after the perio surgery in order to halt the growth in the colonization of the bacteria or accumulation of plaque, This is done after 90 days of the Perio surgery. D4910 is the Code which is widely used for Perio Maintenance.
